Sailing holiday at De Bird

De Bird is an outstanding place for your sailing holiday. The sailing school occupies a location that is unique for the Netherlands, on the Idzegaasterpoel with its own island, known as the Bird Island. There are also large pontoons for sailing instruction here. Due to its sheltered position, the wide uninterrupted views over the water and the absence of other vessels, this lake is a safe place to practise for beginners and groups with little experience of watersports.

Sailing experience

Dreaming of becoming a specialist at the challenging Laser? That can be arranged! Departing from our Bird-island we sail with different kinds of dinghies, in which you can rip the waves and spectacularly capsize your boat. We also carry twoseater dinghies fitted with genaker such as the Buzz or Vibes, in which you can learn to properly race.
